Well, I told Nick not to set my alarm because I wasn't watching the twins today so imagine my surprise when I woke on my own at 7:15 and saw a text from their mom, saying they would be late. Whoopsie! We are hosting playgroup this morning and I was really looking forward to some chill time with just my kids this afternoon. My, how different my day looks now....
Today is day 1 of the 10 day real food challenge. Absolutely no processed foods! I prepped some stuff last night in anticipation of it. I don't typically eat a ton of processed, mostly just canned soup, a few freezer items and salad dressings. Thinking this may bring to light other processed stuff of which I do not have awareness Hopefully, this won't be too difficult. Even if it is though, I can handle 10 days....
Hope everyone had a nice Easter. I hosted and it went well. We had our big meal at noon so everyone left by 5 ish. I was so beat after that long weekend! So glad I slept in today.
Off to do a quick DVD workout now. No school for Em so she's still snoozing. Caleb and the twins are playing legos.
Good day running friends! Ria, good luck with that food challenge! Should be interesting. I'm going for a nice long run today. I did 6 miles on Saturday and the freakin' knot is still there, but definitely looser. I've been slathering Tiger Balm on it, stretching every hour and foam rolling the heck out of it. If I'm going to do a half in a month, I've either gotta ramp up, or resign myself to not doing it. So we'll see how this goes. Is anyone doing Pitt at a comfortable, walking/running pace? I have a feeling that might be all I can do that day. KAREN, I was so happy to see you ran a half on Saturday! It made my weekend. My DH is happy for you too, I've been sharing your situation with him since he can totally relate - he was too injured to run the first time he qualified for Boston, too. But he got a medical deferment and I understand they're not giving them this year because of the changed times. So what are we looking at? 2 weeks from today? Have a great day everyone!! Love, mo
Up at 6:00 to run 4 easy miles. I didn't think they would be too easy when I started, but it got better.
I need to print the reseach paper that is due tomorrow for physics. I should finally find out my cell bio exam grade today, then I will find out the physics test grade tomorrow. Both of these grades will let me know what I am looking at for the rest of semester - hopefully an A in cell bio, and how much stress I will be under in physics -
Morning ladies! Had a great weekend as you all saw by my run. I told val that I wondered if god was shining his light my way bc I went to church twice this past week. :). John is taking Jason back to school today. I have less than a month left of a Jason-free house. It's going to be a long, lazy summer, for him. I gotta get an anxiety pill before he gets out for break. I'm leaving for work soon. It's ONE WEEK. To Boston. Holy sh-ugar! Maria, good luck with your challenge & the twins today! Mo--I hope that knot works itself out! Thanks for thinking of me. Lorie--I'm glad you got through the run. I hope you did well on your exams!
Good day, running babes! I ran 5 miles this morning. Only one more early morning run this week (tomorrow), then I get to "sleep in" until 6:45 the rest of the week! My first 20-miler is this weekend! Yikes!!!!!
Today is the kids' last day of Easter break. Back to routine tomorrow - yay!!! We've had a really nice week together, though. It had the potential to be the longest-week-ever, but they've gotten along wonderfully, and we've had a lot of fun together. Today I'll probably be dragging them to the grocery store with me, and I'm sure we'll play outside some. It's windy here today, though! DH works late today (like 9:00 PM), so it could be a loooooonnnnngggg day! :)
Maria, I hope your day goes well, even though it wasn't what you had mentally prepared for!
Mo, I will be running Pitt easy! :) Good luck with that knot!
Karen, I'm happy for you and your half this weekend!!! ONE WEEK!!!
Lorie, I'm glad your run got better as you went. That usually happens!
And the baby that I wasn't expecting is here too. Did I really write this down wrong?! Geez....I am so not into this today but luckily, the playgroup will eat up a lot of time. I was hoping to hit the grocery store though and I just don't see that happening now, at least until Nick gets home.
Mo - I'll send lots of prayers and "get out knot" vibes your way!
Lorie - May 1st will be here before you know it.
Karen - Glad the half went well. My aunt called me the other day to see if I wanted to go to Boston with her because my uncle backed out on going and she didn't want to travel alone. She offered to pay for every bit of it. Sadly, I still had to say no because I'd be missing out on babysitting days and I can't do that to the parents (or to my checkbook...).
Heather - Yay on your upcoming 20 miler. It's really just a mental thing. You will do great:)
Lorie--good for you for being strong and saying "no." I don't know what it is with Jason. He is in his room 24/7 playing war games on the PC and talking to himself and playing lego and just comes out to eat. i won't get started--but maybe she'll become a more independant person by your saying "no." She may realize that if she wants to spend more time with you, she has to mentally grow up a little bit first.
TH--glad you had a good week with the boys! the water pictures were too funny.
Maria--do you know what wave your aunt is in? Not like i'll see her--but you never know!

So excited about your half, Karen! So excited about Boston next week too.
I feel you pain with the concerns about Jason being home for
