I also think if tables were turned, one would probably be a bit PO'd to find his/her ex essentially *married* in spirit to another, yet collecting alimony as if not----I'm thinking that legally probably you couldnt/shouldnt be living together plus collecting it? On the other hand, it's supposed to be used to help you transition into going back to school/etc to be able to support yourself in future, so maybe I'm off base.
