Candidate Obama promised higher energy prices, and more green energy. President Obama has at least partly delivered on his promise. We have much higher energy prices. The cost of gas has more than doubled. If you live in the Northeast, things are going to get much worse. Refiners can't profitably run refineries with new EPA mandates. If our President can get all refiners to quit, we will have a much greener economy. Of course we won't have an ability to run cars, jets, boats, trains or heat many of our homes. At least we will live the environmental dream. The U.S. economy will be much greener, more 1850ish. Who needs electricity, running water, transportation of any sort, when we can have Obama. We can live the environmental dream of growing our own food, making our own cloths, entertainment, plus everything else. The dream of being totally self sufficient in each very small community. How wonderful this must seem to many.

You know, I am reminded very strongly of an old Danny Kaye LP my brother and used to listen to as children.
Sorry, I'm not going to cry a river for the "poor" US
Don't worry, once Obama shuts down the remaining refineries, all our petroleum problems will be resolved. :)
Yes, I know, Obama with his all powerful
The problem is not Obama, but Americans "entitlement" mentality with cheap gas, cheap food, and the unhealthy lifestyle that goes with it.
People in Scandinavian countries pay much higher prices for gas, but most of them walk, bike, and use public transportation.

Really? So the problem of "cheap gas" gives us fat people? The solution higher gas prices more expensive food and wa la a healthier population, right?
Trouble is the poorer the person, the more likely they are to be fat, how will they afford this new healthy lifestyle that more expensive fuel will give us?
I just watched the Huger Games. WOnder why anyone would complain about that 1850'ish bucolic lifestyle. Beautiful! Just head out the door and shoot a squirrel in the eye.
In many many many years, maybe.
I'm so happy the economy is bad, then we use less fuel. Happy happy day!
Well I don't know about all tha,t most people just call it the EPA.
