I checked the status of our tax refund and we are getting reviewed.

We are being reviewed too. We sent in all our paperwork in and thought we were good but we got a letter asking for more. So I called and they said its a different department and I needed to send them copies of everything we had. Then it would take 30-45 days for them to respond or get our return to us. Good luck!

We were delayed last year. We finally got our refund in late August I believe. Ours was a bit different since it was international adoption, but we had to send in copies of receipts showing all of our expenses and basically all the adoption-related paperwork we had.

It's rumored that there were some shady people out there saying they adopted internationally, when they didn't, which is why ALL families who did IA were audited last year.

This year I'm hearing mixed results. One person told me he sent in all the paperwork up front (since he knew from our experiences last year) and he got his refund right away with no questions asked.

We orgionally filed our taxes in Feb (2011) for the 2010 year that included our credit. We got our "reg" return April (after being held up forever), and FINALLY got our adoption credit in July AFTER resubmitting the paperwork,(bc they lost it or threw it away)
