date night ideas?

I'm always looking for fun, new date night ideas for me and my husband.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Our go-to dates are going out to eat at our favorite restaurants or going down to Pittsburgh for baseball games.  I love doing both of those, but I'd love to hear some other suggestions, too.  What do you and your husband do?  We don't have any children yet, so finding a babysitter is not an issue.

I love brainstorming stuff like this because it gets me excited to try some different things.

  • Bowling/miniature golf
  • Stage show or play
  • Concert
  • Museum
  • Zoo
  • Go for a walk around your neighborhood
  • Find a park near you and have a picnic
  • Cook together (take a cooking class or cook something familiar at home)
  • Tackle a household project together (okay, that's not really much of a date but you can sit back and enjoy the results together...that could be a date)
  • Go for a hike or bike ride
  • Plan your next vacation (go to the bookstore and find some good travel books)

That should get you started!

I was going to say bowling too! DH has cerebral Palsy so we can't do activities that require a lot of standing or walking since he refuses to use a wheelchair, and with bowling he can sit whenever it's not his turn. We also like double dating with a few other parent friends we have but it's a lot harder with our little ones. We actually just usually hang back and have a beer and play some cards and listen to pandora

RoseAnn covered most of our go-tos for going out.

Sometimes we stay in and game nights - Rockband, Karaoke, etc. We have had a picnic in the living room with fireplace blazing and a bottle of wine. We've read to each other. We have danced in the living room.

We made bucket lists one night and then told each stories of "why" behind some of the items.

We have kids but babysitting isn't an issue for us either ;-)
