Just wondering if anyone started having lower back pain with the onset of perimenopause.......

I am still having a period, although they are not on a regular schedule. When I started month before last, my lower back started hurting something terrible, aching, etc...... early morning after I had been on my feet a while, I almost felt like my back would break if I tried to sit down -it would be better some days, worse others and continued thru my last period. It is not as bad now but is still bothering me some.

I've never had back problems in the past but just started with peri symptoms in January of this year......

Hi and welcome to the board. Do you ever see a chiropractor? When was your last pap? Some people have back pain instead of 'cramps', but if you have not had that before... If you go to the Menopause Oasis, http://cl-klrambo-ivil.tripod.com/menopauseoasis/ There is a list of almost 60 Symptoms that we know of, and #17 is backaches. You could try a chiropractic treatment. BUT though it probably isn't, backache can also be a sign of ovarian cancer. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/ovarian-cancer/DS00293/DSECTION=symptoms  That is why I asked about your last pap. If you have not had your yearly lately, you might want to make an appointment and don't forget to mention your back if a chiro doesn't work.

Hopefully it will go away soon, but it is better to find out what it is. Again, it probably is not cancer, I am not trying to scare you. and I am not a medical person. Come back anytime with questions, comments, or just to vent! And remember.... you are NOT alone!!!!
