Why is my mother in law so crazy? She's always so full of crap!  Today, Dh called and told her we're scheduled and having the baby on Friday.  Her response should have been "Congratulations!" or "Would you like me to come wait with you at the hospital?" or "What can I do to help?"  (The hospital is 25 minutes away, inlaws live halfway between our house and hospital.)  Those would be the normal responses, right?  NO!  She wants to know why DH took off work on Friday!  He tried to explain it to her, simple stuff like using vacation time and being allowed to miss work, but she thinks he's just wasting his vacation days to be with me.  She thinks he should be working and miss the birth of his first child!!!  What the heck is wrong with her?

Well my first reaction is definitely Congratulations! and it's awesome they're finally "getting your show on the road"! You've more than earned it to finally see that cutie! The day after delivering vaginally, c-sections sound better and better. ;-)

Dh just got off the phone with her.  No point arguing with a crazy lady.  At least she stays away so I don't have to deal with her craziness.  If she shows up at the hospital and there is any sign of drama, the baby goes to the nursery and Dh can show him off from there.  But I doubt she'll show up, she'll probably say I didn't invite her or something just to get attention.

Well first off CONGRATS!!!  Good luck with everything!

Second............oh wack-a-do MILs.  :smileysad:  I have one of those too.  This is my 3rd child and ever since my first I have thought she was a lunatic!!!

My hope for you is that she does keep her distance and just let DH deal with her.  Good luck!!!

Ugh! I'm sorry! My own mom is a little like that but your experience sounds even worse. I'm excited for you to finally have a date- Are you ready?

Wow, thats insane. I honestly have no idea what to say to this, i think if it was me, I would be telling her to go and jump.

I feel lucky that my MIL lives a 9 hour drive away and will probably come to visit a couple of weeks after we are home for a couple of days.

What an awful human being. MIL or not that seems completely out of line. At least your husband knows how to handle her. Dont think about it too much. Your little one will be here on Friday! This should be a wonderful moment. Don't let anyone get in the middle of such a beautiful blessing. Hugs.
