We have had several pertussis outbreaks (whooping cough) in our area.  Our local hospital offers the vaccine to Mom's postpartum while admitted if they choose.  My question is do you plan on getting the vaccine during your pregnancy or postpartum?  And has there been an outbreak near where you live?

I got one when my DD was born (June 2011) before leaving the hospital.  We've had a couple of outbreaks here and I made DH go get one last fall to be sure he didn't get anything or pass it on to DD either.....better safe than sorry!

Great topic.  I had this shot before I gave birth, so that the babies would benefit.   My birthing hospital offered to do it after the birth, but I asked if I could have it before and they did it.
