Let's play, poets.  Write a haiku (5-7-5) about the photo below and post under this thread.

I miss dinners most,
lingering at the table.
Now, it's toast and tea.

I'll play! :smileyhappy:

It was yesterday
The moment that I realized
I don't have my teeth.

too much time for thought
but no one around who cares
to hear my stories

Does anyone care

that I lived this years ago?

Does my view matter?

More haiku, not based on this picture, but on the date of this thread,  which was the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur this year:

Yom Kippur ends When?

I’m supposed to be praying –

but not for a snack.

Some people can go

without eating or drinking

for twenty-five hours

They pray and repent

with perfect concentration.

I wish I could, too.

I ache all over,

my eyes hurt too much too see –

that’s it for this year.

Same here.  Perfect example of all people/any religion.  You ARE amazing -- you used the image as a reflection of daily life -- applause!

Eyes on a far-off

memory, she smiles, but still I

try to call her back.
