Here's a two-part blog post listing some of the things done to a newborn during the first days, an explanation, and arguments on both sides of each point. It's a great informative article, and *mostly* unbiased. A great way to start your research :smileyhappy:

Wow!!! I had no idea that some of those thigs were harmful to the immediate bonding after birth and that some were even unneeded!!! I don't think that I was even asked if they could do any of the things (cord clamp or eye goop for example).

Hopefully I can make a more informed decision this time around!! I want to encourage breast feeding and of course kangaroo care and those get two hours are crucial... Good to know that I have options!
