Anyone tried EPO?

I started using evening primrose oil last night (vaginally) but then I couldn't sleep all night wondering if the capsules would never dissolve and when I go to push baby out I'll push out a build up of EPO capsules. LOL I'm wondering if its worth it or if anyones had any experience using EPO?

I used it with DD. The oil absorbs into you or leaks out while you sleep. I'm going to use it with this one, too, but I keep forgetting at night! You can take a pin and poke holes into the capsule before inserting it if you want, but it's not really necessary.

I'm vising from the Feb 2013 board.. I used EPO with DS#2. I started it at 36 weeks. At 37 week, I was 1cm 50% effaced. At 39 weeks, I was 3cm and 80% effaced. With my first, I never progressed passed 1cm until I was induced. So, I think the EPO helped. I plan on using it again this time, I think. And as a sidenote... you're not the only one who thought about the doc finding a stash of pills in there.. :smileyvery-happy:

LOL. Thanks! Cool to know that it may have worked. I'm crossing my fingers. Did you take it orally too? How much did you take/insert?

I took 2 pills orally and 2 vaginally each day, all 3 weeks. Good luck I hope it works for you!!

I don't use EPO the night before a doctors appointment. I'm not worried about pill casings or anything being seen, but the oil sticks around, and it stinks!

Yeah, you're right about that. It smells like pure vitamins to me and, in my opinion, that's one of the worst smells!!

Sheesh, the smell of the EPO when I open the bottle, makes me gag and want to barf. Anyway, I've started getting a ton of mucus, so hopefully it's working.

How are you taking it and how much per day? I've been doing it for a week now and not seeing much of any change. I was inserting it vaginally but the last couple days i've been taking it orally and think I've had more mucus so maybe oral is better? maybe I should combine and do both plus open a capsule and rub it on my belly lol :smileyhappy:
