Speaking about DS to 6th graders

Today I spoke for an awareness event for a whole lot of 6th graders.  Alot of them!  But it went well.  I had 20 minutes and did the "same" presentation 6 times, though it varied some due to their questions and comments.  Braska went with me and had a little speech prepared that she was going to read, but then she got all shy with the strangers around...  figures!

It was really cool to hear what they thought, share some new info with them, and help them be aware, event just a little bit more.

Favorite comment of the day: "I thought that Down syndrome meant that they fall down alot because they can't walk good."  And he wasn't being disrespectful.  He was serious.  Awareness is needed!
