text question

went on a great second date last night. the entire time the guy was saying complimentary things, kissing me, making references to our third date. he came into my house, we made out for a while, no sex or anything major, said to me at the end "You are a total package. beauty and brains."

Anyway, this morning he had to be up early and i texted him and i said I hope he made it ok and it wasn't too difficult. he wrote "Had to be up at 7. it was brutal, but worth it" (meaning our late night)

I wrote back, "i'm glad. I had fun."

He didn't respond. should have have written back i'm glad too? or him saying the late night was worth it was the same thing. btw he isnt much of a texter.
