When will you go in for your first doc appt after baby?
Here, they do a full exam before discharging you and baby, but they said I should see my OBGYN in 6 weeks. That seems so late to me! Or is that a universal time frame? They said c-section moms would go in at 4 weeks.

We have a thing called Midcall here, where a midwife comes to your house every day for a week after leaving the hospital, they check us both over to make sure everything is still going well. Doing things like weighing the baby, seeing how bfing is going, checking stitches etc if youre unfortunate enough to have had a tear. Its pretty good, because for at least a week you dont have to worry about getting out of the house to go see them.

Here, the pediatrician and OB/midwife check every day during the hospital stay. Then, baby and mom go back to the hospital for a basic check with nurses two days after being sent home. Baby's first pediatrician office visit is around a week after being sent home. Mom's OB/midwife appt is around 6 weeks after delivery.
My midwife appt is in 4 weeks, because I plan on going back on the pill and that form of birth control is started then. If I were doing Mirena or something then my appt wouldn't be until 6 weeks.
