Trying to fight the itch but I'm struggling.  By now with all my kiddies, I've at least bought a blanket, diapers, or something.  I'm thinking of heading out and getting something just to tie me over until we find out the gender.  Just curious, have any of you ladies bought anything yet?  If so, what was it?

I bought some sleep sacks and night gowns, gender neutral.  I was at the big consignment sale shopping for winter clothes for my DS and found then for about $2 a peaice so I went ahead and bought them.  That is all for me though until we find out the gender.  Although I might start stocking up on diapers.

We haven't done any shopping yet, but my mom has.  She's bought some bibs & sleep sacks (all neutral of course), but she wants to make sure the baby (whether boy or girl) has some new items to wear and doesn't get stuck with all of DD's hand-me-downs!

I admit it, I saw the cutest pink blanket on the discount site zulily.com and I bought it.  I have a son, DH and I are convinced this will be a girl simply because we'd prefer another boy for room sharing, reusing clothes, etc (although we're really fine with either).  Because it would be really easier if we had a boy we're convinced we're having a girl, that's the way our luck seems to go!

So I'll either be keeping the pink blanket or giving it away as a baby gift.  My sister says I'm crazy lol.

As for diapers, I would stay away from too many newborn size because your baby might not fit in them.....or wear them long.

But for the first few months DD went through 8-10 diapers a day and she wore size 1 until 4 months....now realize she's still tiny (under 20lbs at 16 months).  But I'd imagine most babies are in size for at least a month, probably 2? (it runs up to 14lbs) so that means you'll need at least 240-300 size 1 diapers.  Just to give you an idea......and if you buy boxes and don't open them most stores will let you exchange them for a different size, so if you buy a bunch just don't open them all.

I don't think you can go wrong with size1 & 2 diapers!  Brand is totally a personal preference that you'll figure out along the way......we used Huggies, but likely because that's what we had the most of in the beginning (and they have the wetness indicator that we loved).
