whew, it's been busy since the older two got out of school?
had them & Hudson here?
then when Hudson left I had to prep for dinner?
Graham got home & I had to have him do his 1 min. reading, his 20 min. reading & he had 2 math pages to do?1 (he's not had "homework" other than his reading)
then i took S to her class?
while she was there I ran to Petsmart (in the same shopping complex) to exchange the cat carrier? (the old one had no door)
& bought Louis some more cat toys? (to which my kids said that I "spoil" him w/toys, LOL. I bought a pkg. of balls w/bells cuz he has 1 & he really likes it...i get tired of looking for it. It was a pkg. of 3. & anohter toy that is plastic tube thing w/a bell inside & a feather string on one end)
had to run to Target for nail glue?
then back to get S?
come home & make dinner......we ate late at 7:00pm?
cleaned up from that?
then had to do the shower shuffle etc?

so i stubbed my big toe on the ottoman today?
& it broke my nail from the top halfway down my toe?
it's attached to my nail bed still & goes to far down to cut?
& I can't leave it hanging as it would snag on stuff?
my toe is throbby like?
so that is why I had to get the nail glue?
I had Steve help me since I couldn't put the glue on, hold the nail up & then down while it dried?
LOL?

how cool to be able to tour the house of the neighbor?
that would be fun to do?
so you don't like it when people put say a dishwasher in an old house?
or you don't like when it's an old house and modern in design inside?
i like keeping the integrity of the home?
but don't mind if say the kitchen has some modern conveniences?
i wouldn't, however, like it if you were in the kitchen & didn't have that "old home" feel & you felt like you were in a new build?"

I feel the way you do

I certainly want a dishwasher and other modern conveniences, lol, but I don't want the design of the house to be modern

Like if he had blown out all the walls on the main floor and made it a modern open-concept design I would not have liked that

He kept the architectural integrity of the house intact, with things like original trim and moldings, uncovering original fireplaces, etc.

But it has new windows, a new farmhouse style kitchen that blends very well with the time period of the house, and he has furnished it simply and tastefully

It looks great!
