Mommyofthezoo in IN. I don't need 6 hours to drive anywhere interesting. Give me 3 and I would be in my favorite place in the world--Milwaukee. I haven't been there for enjoyment in 2 yrs but was there over the summer for a funeral. I could use a good 4 day weekend to just go recharge.

Not much around our parts for this month. My father takes all fo us kids and grandkids for pizza and pumpkins each year and that happens to be next Sunday. Kids are looking forward to that and trick or treating. I personally dislike Oct because it is getting too cold for me. Currently 42 but with the wind it feels like 38. Brrrrrrrrrr!

It's nice to read that Milwaukee is your favorite place - that's something that is seldom heard, lol. I like it well enough. It has some fascinating things to do and I love the zoo and the lakefront, and the Calatrava art museum is stunning, but a favorite? Um, not really! Maybe my nearness to it (about an hour) makes me too complacent about its charms. Minneapolis, though, that is a favorite for me (for no real reason other than I grew up in a suburb of Mpls. and have always associated it with good memories).

But you are no stranger to the long hard winters,,, same here,,, Germany is really cold in the winter. Anyway, bring it on as from now on it's the shortest way to spring/summer LOL

What a nice outing for you all..... think I'll come along... (soon as I hear pizza, I'm thereLOL)

Hi Donna,

Thought you are away on vacation....   glad to see you though!

Anyway, just think of last winter,  you had practically no snow, way under the norm so perhaps it will be the same.  As for here, for some reason I feel the winter is going to be a long hard winter.  Just feel it in my bones , the way it's starting.
