Im currently being treated for Tonsillitis in my 7 day pill free break with Ospen (Penicillin) I'm due to start my new pill pack tomorrow but I was wondering as its a new pack I'm starting and today is the last day I take the penicillin do I still have to use another method of contraception as a back up when I start my new pack? And if so for how long? Any help would be greatly appreciated :smileyhappy:

Welcome to the board smiler, great question.  If you are currently using hormonal birth control such as the pill and have been prescribed an antiobiotic then yes you should be using a back up method of birth control.  Usually the information brochure that comes with your birth control pills or the one with your antibiotics provides some information about this, but if not I found this article to give you some more insight.  You can also call your doctors office and the nurse on duty or doctor of the day can provide you with additional information.
