Plateau

Hi, I'm new to this website (just signed up) but am finding it really helpful. I was wondering if there was anyone that had any advice for me. I've lost a stone over the last 2 months just cutting down what I eat. I have cut my calorie intake down to 1200 calories per day and tried to eat less carbs and more protein but was not that controlled with everything else I ate. I have now hit a plateau and cannot lose any weight even though I am exercising roughly 4 times a week. Does anyone know how to kickstart your weightloss once you reach this point?

Thanks! :smileyhappy:

When do you exercise? Morning can rev the metabolism for the day. (not that i do that but i should). Also, weight lifting can boost the metabolism.
And the one sucky thing about losing weight is that your calorie requirements actually decrease at lower weights (i never thought that was quite fair!)
Also,, sometimes changing your exercise routine can give you a jump start as your body does get used to certain activities ... or stepping up the intensity of workout with intervals or something.
just a few thoughts.
good luck!

1200 calories a day is really low. I'd love to know what kind of things you are eating? I read somewhere once that when you hit a plateau you should actually increase your calories for a while. It might be something to try.
