34 Week Appointment... HUGE Baby!

Oh. My. Word!!!

I had my sonogram yesterday to check the amniotic fluid. I was measuring huge last week, so the doctor was concerned about the fluid level. That all checked out perfect, and so did the baby, but he estimated 7 lbs 2 oz!!! Three weeks ago, he weighed 5 lbs 4 oz, so he gained almost 2 lbs in 3 weeks. That's almost a half pound more than what he should have gained! He's really long... his little femur was measuring 39 weeks, so at least I know he's not just round, right?

He's still head down, so that's good, but I'm so scared he's going to be huge!

Oh my goodness! For your sake, I sure hope the measurements are wrong, that's a big baby.

I had a family member who just delivered her first baby in June. The were already concerned about a natural delivery because they said her pelvis was tiny, then they did the ultrasound and according to their measurement, they said the baby was over 9 pounds and didn't think she could deliver naturally. They induced her a week early to see if she could deliver naturally and it was an easy delivery and baby was only 6 pounds, so I take their measurements with a grain of salt. At least I am sure hoping they are measuring wrong with mine- he was measuring 4 pounds at 29 weeks.

Wow, that is a big boy! I agree that they can be off on their measurements, so I wouldn't worry too much. But at least you know he's healthy and growing well!

Wow! He is a big one. Hopefully he's a bit less than the estimate. That would scare me too.
