Birth rates decreased slightly again last year, although it wasn't as drastic as in previous years: http://www.ivillage.com/recession-and-economy-cause-birth-rate-decline/6-a-491529

The assumption in the dropping birth rate has been attributed to the declining economy, so I was curious how much it has played a role in your TTC plans.  Do you think if the economy rebounds soon that you might be TTC earlier?

I think that DH might be easier to convince if the economy was better -- especially if the cost of living wasn't so high -- but it hasn't really ever played into our decision whether or not to TTC.  Granted, our economy also didn't take the hit that the American economy did.  The biggest issue for us, financially, is that wages haven't increased at the same rate as the cost of living, so feeding kids takes up a larger portion of the income now than, say, twenty years ago when my mum was feeding young kids.
