I know this board is for Young Adult Fiction, but I had to share this, even if the book itself isn't fiction. I just think it's so inspiring that a teen has this kind of outlook on life!
I was bouncing around reading book news this morning and ran across this article about a teenage author, Talia Leman. At 10 years old, she helped raise more than $10 million for victims of Hurricane Katrina. Now in high school, she's written a book titled "A Random Book about the Power of ANYone." She believes that anyone has what it takes to make a difference in the world around them and be greater than they might imagine possible.
The article contains an excerpt from her book and I was really taken by her writing style.
I think this might be one I'll be getting to pass on to some of the teens I know -- after I read it, of course! LOL
