Do any kids have the Dr Dre Beats headphones?

I'm in the midst of holiday shopping and I think DS would love these.  He saw seveal of the Olympians wearing them.  He doesn't like ear buds and his head phones are falling part.  They are costly and the reviews on amazon weren't fabulous.   Anyone have them and care to chime in?

After doing a bunch of research, these are the ones Jordyn is asking for for Christmas:

I think the big difference other than the price tag is that these are not wireless, but I am pretty sure the Dr. Dre ones are, but I could be wrong.

I see them at every store I go into that sells that sort of stuff.  I absolutely refused to buy a pair of headphones that cost that much money.  I think it's crazy.  We buy $10 - $20 stuff and they last a long time unless the cat decides to chew a cord.  I told the kids that if they wanted them they'd have to save up allowance to buy them.  They seem to take better care of things like that when they pay for it anyway.

Did you decide to get them? I just can't seem to decide either. My son (nor I) like earbuds either but not sure thse are worth the $$.

The guy at the Apple store today said he's not a fan. He thinks they are over priced and not well made. I tend to believe him because they had them in the store...

I'm worried that they're cool but not quality. That's alot of money to spend to have them break in a year.

Thankfully our apple store is in our walkable cute downtown area-accessible and easy to stop into.

It might be worth calling to get the brand, etc. so you don't waste time if they're out of you're price range or don't come in a "cool " color.

No, but they are on jordyn's Christmas list. She won't be getting them unless a relative gets them. I haven't researched them at all. There is a radio DJ on the local station that his 9 year old daughter got them and raved about them on the radio, but that's all I know.

He hasn't asked-I'm just trying to be hip:smileyhappy: The style seems to be where headphones are heading. I'm reading reviews of other brands on Amazon, but maybe we should head to the Apple store and look.

I know both of my kids want these but on wow it's not in the budget so they don't even ask. I haven't heard anything negative about them third hand. If you're looking for headphones, I was at the Apple Store yesterday because Megan had an issue with her iPod Touch and listened to some music with the headphones they had attached and it sounded fabulous! Not sure what brand they were or how much they cost but it might be worth some investigation.
