Keep checking the peanut butter recall list!

A friend of mine brought up the recall yesterday in conversation. I had checked the recall list a while back, but decided to check again this morning. My peanut butter (Kirkland) was added to the list a few days ago. So keep checking the list just in case!

Eek! That's scary. It was my first time purchasing the peanut butter from Costco, and I was immediately not a fan. I'm glad to have a reason to get rid of it. I wonder if it really is "off" and that's why I didn't like it. I did, however, manage to use 3/4 of a jar by putting some in my smoothies over the summer. I remember feeling kind of icky after eating the smoothies but I thought it was the sugar affecting me. I wonder if it was the peanut butter.

See... I even had a bought of (TMI ALERT!!!) bloody diarrhea, but it cleared up after a day and I was still eating the same jar of peanut butter, so surely that wasn't it, right? I'm a little nervous to eat PB at all right now, but I eat it every morning for breakfast, and I don't like anything else.

It all is stemming from one plant that distributes all these different brands of peanut butter. I guess that is what happens when the huge supply chain traces back to one source.

That reminds me...I could be making my own peanut butter in my Vitamix but I guess I just don't eat that much of it to justify the hassle of scraping out the container! lol

I am so glad that I buy my peanut butter freshly made at the local Vitamin Cottage.

Phew! I can count myself lucky, it seems to be an american only recall. It is crazy that they are recalling so many peanut products because of samonella!?!

We were affected too. We bought Talenti peanut butter cup frozen gelato, which has also been recalled and my DH took a bite of it one night (just one spoonful), and the next day he was having the runs. We checked the UPC code against the recalled products and ours was one of those recalled.

We bought two giant containers of the Sunland Natural from Costco. It was weird... when I opened it, was just different from the last batch we bought, and I thought "sure hope this stuff doesn't end up recalled!" Ugh...

I just bought Skippy Natural, and I so hope that doesn't end up part of it! I can't live without my peanut butter!
