Another 35 Week Appointment!
Thu, 10-11-2012 - 10:28am

Well, everything went well. I got swabbed for Group B Strep, Syphilis & Gonorheah (sp?), then had blood drawn for HIV. That wasn't at all my favorite part of the appointment, but it's over with now, so I won't complain too much. My BP was 100/60... I don't think I ever remember it being that low, but they said it was good, so I guess it's good. The baby was squirmy, so his heart rate was 140's-150's, and here's the best part.... If my cervix is at all moving in the right direction, he'll schedule me to be induced on the 6th or 7th next week!

I just SO hope I've dilated a little! I just want to be on the books. I know how easy it is for these OB's to forget what they've said, so I want to get it out of the way and official.

Wow, yay for your doctor being willing to schedule an induction at your next appointment! I hope that your cervix is cooperative so that you can have a date and have an idea when your LO will be here!

That sounds positive! Good luck and hopefully you'll get a date at your next appointment.

Regarding blood pressure, 100/60 is my normal bp. I have been registering 90/60 for the last two visits. I guess I'm always just low. They always say "good," so I don't worry too much. But it's interesting to know that it's considered low for most people.

My strep b swab is next week.  i'm envisioning something like a pap smear.  Is it kind of the same?

Every time I've gone, they just my BP is good, great or excellent and they never tell me what it is.  So last time, I asked.  Mine was 120/68.  I always have low BP anyway, so this is a smidge high for my normal.  But yeah, I have no clue what is normal for pregnancy.

It is basically like a Pap smear, quick and painless. Your BP seems great to me.
