Hello, Hello!!

Sorry I've not been around in so long.  Work is very busy.  I'm still learning a lot and have a ways to go.

I hope you have all been doing well.  The girls are doing good.  SD11 is having a bit of a hard time keeping up with all the 6th grade homework, but she'll get it.  SD20 is enjoying traveling with her volleyball team and is getting flacky about her very nice BF, but she'll figure that out too.

DH and I are working a lot as it's the wrap up before winter.  We may get snow this weekend.  I'm also enjoying watching for the northern lights.  I got outside one night last week and tried taking some pictures.  They didn't turn out, but there may be another chance this weekend.

My Dad moved to our town this summer.  It's great having him close again.  Mom finished her first court date for her car accident and the settlement was ok.  Two more court dates to go and maybe we can all move on.  The girl's Gma moved this past spring and she's building a new home back in her home town.  It's going ok.  I have to admit that it's a little easier not having the extra to deal with every day.

I'm looking forward to the holidays and the winter snow.  I love the calm and quiet that snow brings.

Hope you are doing well!!!

Hello

I'm rarely in ivillage either but just popped in today - it seems to take a while to get in when I do try

Glad to hear everything sounds as if it's going well. Kristie, even if you sound really busy. Glad your Mum's court situation is looking promising and glad that Gma has moved on.  Hugs to you all.

DD started high school this year (they generally start earlier here than in the US)  She loves it.  We made the big decision to go private and I know that was the right decision bearing in mind the area we live in and DD's personality and ability. It's quite a small school so they can't sit back and do no work!   She has to play (field) hockey every Saturday so that is a big change - 5.5 days of school!  She has a nice group of friends and is getting involved in activities like orchestra, arts and crafts and handball.  Like your SD11, she has a lot of homework now,  compared with primary/elementary school

We have a week off school/work next week which will be nice but we aren't going anywhere on vacation, just relaxing at home.

Take care

Let's see.....things here have been crazy!  I have been working a lot, so that takes up a lot of my time.

Lizzie is doing great in school.  She's now in the 11'th grade.  She is finding that she finally needs to put some effort towards her classes as they aren't as easy as before.  Honors Pre Calc/Trig and Honors Phyisics are pretty demanding classes.  She just joined a science club, and was just invited to apply for application into the National Honor Society.  She's concerned because she isn't involved in a lot of school activitities but she does have a lot of community volunteer hours, so hopefully she will get tin.  She has to finishe the application this weekend.

Mike is in school and taking an English class while he works full time.  Hopefully he will do well but if he doesn't.....he's paying for the class, so it's up to him.

That's about all from our neck of the woods!  It's getting cold here.....had to pull out the hoodies and jeans after an extended warm period!

It's getting cold here too.  Sounds like Lizzie is doing well in the science area.  Hope Mike's course is doing well. Hope you are gettingon well too.

I'm not sure what DD's specialisms will be as she gets older.  She seems to be doing particularly well in Spanish, Modern Studies (which covers things like sociology, economics and politics) and Geography.
