Another newbie, and a question...

Hi everyone -- I'm thrilled to be pregnant expecting my 4th on April 30 (so we may have a May baby instead!). I'm just over 11 weeks (I think).  I just came back from my appointment where the doc had lots of trouble locating the heart beat via doppler... she found it briefly said "oh there it is, 124" then it was gone.  She kept trying after that for a long time, finally found it again after a lot of moving around in a completely different place and recorded it at 169. That time, baby cooperated and stayed put for long enough that we got a good listen. I don't have any recollection in my previous pregnancies of the heartbeat jumping so much in a single visit, wondering if anyone here has had a similar experience and/or if you have any insight as to what might cause it to change so much.  I'm not really worried, because the heartbeat was definitely there... though am curious. Thanks, and happy pregnancies to all of you! ~M

Or 124 could have been your heart rate because you were panicking about not finding the baby's heart rate (my heart rate runs between 90 and 125 normally).

124 could have been baby sleeping. baby waking up and getting active could have been why your dr lost it and found it in another spot and a lot higher
