After Misha's pedicure and brought her home, I went over to Beardall Animal Hospital to pick up Sammy's Urinary SO, and while there I saw a prescription food for cats with joint and arthritis problem. At this time of the year when it's cold and damp Misha's arthritis causes her to limp. I chatted with one of the vets for quite awhile about her. I told her that I was giving her Nutri-Aid. I explained that after a nap and in the morning she limps for a bit and after she's been moving around the limp goes away. She said that it has to be painful for her to limp as cats hide their pain and it sounds like arthritis for sure. Anyway, she suggested that I give her some Metacam for the pain and inflammation but wouldn't prescribe it just now as she said that Metacam can cause kidney problems and before prescribing it, she would want to do a blood test to make sure her kidneys weren't compromised. In the meantime, she suggested I start giving her Cosequin and only one squirt of Nutri-Aid in her food for the next week or so and if the limp continues to bring her in for a check up and blood test.
Hopefully, the Cosequin with the Nutri-Aid will help her.
All the best,
