Why do I feel so bad?

I took my DD to CFF today and felt so bad when they only took her pic and said, that's it. I knew since she didn't try on any clothes that they didn't like her look. I'm not sure why I took it so hard today. Maybe cause it was our first casting of the new season and I see a repeat of no bookings again. I felt so confident walking in there, not too many kids, the lady checking her in made a nice compliment, she was very friendly and made them laugh but that was it. I mean we went through this a few times last year but today it hit me hard. Maybe cause I knew ahead of time that if they don't try on clothes, your done. On the positive, we had a nice day and went out for dinner afterwards. She didn't have a clue which made me feel even worse when she said, "I hope they pick me this time"
Sorry for the rant, just needed to vent. Thanks

It's so very hard not to take this business personally. That's how we felt about the American Girl cc. We thought for sure my gdaughter would at least be requested to attend the cc but noooooo. We were so disappointed. She has booked every CFF catalog since she started two years ago but has never booked with Next. She just doesn't have their look even though she's requested everytime. My daughter says she just not going to take her to any more of their castings. Who knows what these people r looking for and it's so important that we don't take this business seriously. The way we look at it is there will always be more cc's than bookings and we've accepted that. Please don't feel bad. There's always another cc and eventually a booking waiting for u!!!!!

It is so easy to get discouraged, but please don't feel that way.  We have chosen to look at it all as a wonderful learning experience.  With every casting call, whether it ends with a booking or not, I see how polite, confident and comfortable my children are when speaking to adults and peers.  They are more mature as a result when compared to their friends but in a completely appropriate way.   Ultimately, this will be the greatest gift from their time spent as child models.  It will give them an advantage in whatever they choose to pursue in their future.

Dont feel bad.  This season so far is not looking good for us either.  We didnt get asked to go to American girl and we have NEVER been asked to go to a CFF casting and we've been doing this for well over a year.  I'm guessing my agent is trying out new kids this year???????  We did book last year at least once a month.  So I dont know why this year we are not even getting asked to go to castings?????  My dd is a size 5 so I thought we'd be busier.  But oh well, I'm just going to enjoy the down time with her.    Things will pick up soon!!!  :smileyhappy:

I don't know how my dd (now DD's) will do at CFF tomorrow. During the first casting with them, the third dress was a little snug, so we were done. Last spring they loved her and had her try on about 11 costumes! I thought for sure my dd would book but she did not. She has never booked H&M nor Next or the many other small request castings she has attended, yet booked Walmart once and Carter's twice at huge castings. So you never know! Congrats proud mommy- once a month bookings are pretty impressive. Is that year round or just in the season? Sbe I have been thinking the same thing about H&M and Next!

Wamermom - we get quite a few emails from our agency advising they submitted pics but bookings? Not so much. Like u, my daughter's enjoying the down time and the money she's saving in gas. With the kids in dance, cheerleading, football, baseball and tumbling, not to mention school, realistically more frequent bookings would be really hard to manage. Thank goodness my daughter is a teacher with Florida Virtual School, otherwise her job would be another hurdle. That said, I agree with u, things will pick up. Hang in there everyone!!!! :smileyhappy:))))!

Thanks mozmb! :smileyhappy:

Mostly during the season.  We booked only 2 jobs in the off season.  Walmart and Carters are awesome bookings!!! CONGRATS!!!  We've been back up for walmart and NEVER booked Carters.

We've never booked H & M, Carter's or Walmart. Mozmb I'm soooo jealous. We've never had an in-store billboard. Oh, woe is me!!!!!!

Mozmb. I forgot to mention although my younger dd books, my older dd has never booked. So it's very tough!!! I've even considering quitting because I don't want to make the older one feel bad. :smileysad:. But my younger one loves it!! I tell my older one that she is just out of size at the moment. I try to get my husband to take the little one to her booking, so I can have along time with her.

Don't feel bad. I felt the same way with Carters. I was for sure that my DD was going to book. Then we didn't receive a call. For CFF, our agent requested pictures of my DD and DS, but we wasn't invited to attend the casting. I hope it picks up soon. This year seems very slow. Lots of bookings to all :smileyhappy:
