question about weaning/stopping

So I haven't pumped at all since this past Tuesday night (almost 4 full days).  I had weaned down to one pump/day (where i was only getting less than 3 oz) over two-ish weeks.  Today, my breasts are really tender and this morning in the shower I saw that I still had milk come out when I massaged them.   Are they full?  I don't want to pump because I don't want them to make more milk, but I don't want to get an infection?  What happens to the milk that's in there once you stop completely?  Sorry if these are silly questions.....thanks for your help!
