I usually answer too, unless it's inconvenient for me to talk then. I have friends that won't answer those calls, saying if it's important they'll leave a message.

I have a strong dislike for people who don't answer the phone when they don't know the number, reason being once I had to call a friend from hospital about another friend being in there and since said friend apparently didn't pick up number she didn't know, I had to get on a bus, go from the hospital and up to her apartment and knock on the door. That took me 45 minutes. All while the other friend was laying in hospital waiting for emergency surgery. I wouldn't have left but the non picking up the phone friend was babysitting , friend in hospital kid.
I should say this was back then when mobilephones was a bit more expensive then today.
No, I do not answer. I do not give out my cell phone number to just anyone so if someone is calling and I do not recognize their number, it's probably not for me.
