Morning all. Trying to fake the energy and positive attitude I promised myself I would bring to life today. I'm tired from the weekend (driving, Homecoming, etc.) and just when I thought we were going to have an easier week financially, the hood on the van flew up and shattered the windshield so it looks like we have to find $175 to replace it. I'm very grateful no one was hurt and dh did not get into an accident!

Today is my late day at work so I'm doing some things around the house. I have to drop off a check for high school swim team gear and make a trip to the grocery store so we can eat this week too.

Tonight Evan is staying after school for glass art and then going to swim practice. Homework when he gets home. Megan has swim practice and that's it except for homework, oh and piano practice. Dinner tonight is whatever I can drum up from the cupboard and freezer. Oh, and I WILL get a walk in this afternoon.

Good morning ladies!  Well, the weekend started off pretty good, ended pretty ehhhh.....  Hoping the week goes by quickly as its going to be a busy week and weekend, actually the rest of the month will be pretty busy.

Let's see, I cracked Madison's head on the door at the daycare this morning :smileysad:  Poor thing, I felt horrible!!  I have a project to work on today and am running out to get halloween costumes for the girls at lunch.  We bought their princess gowns at the Disney store yesterday, but um.... ya, they ended up way more expensive when they were rung up than I had anticipated.  So I found them both at Target, I am going to run and get the less expensive ones, swap out the more expensive ones and take them back.  Halloween really isn't my thing as it is, DH was supposed to take them shopping, but I ended up with it while he took Jordyn to the Apple store to get her new computer yesterday.  On a good note, Jordyn got her early decision application in for her top school last night, so I guess all we do it wait now.  She has a few other applications she is submitting, but this is the big one!  I have a chiropractor appt. after work and I am going to drop off some stuff at the children's resale shop down the road if I have time.  Not sure what's for dinner yet, and I still have some laundry to get done from the weekend.

Have a great day!

Hugs to you and Madison. I'm sure she's doing fine now.

Congrats to Jordyn for getting the application in. Good luck to her!

At the moment- kind of annoyed at the HS orchestra teacher.

He wanted the girls to have new dresses.  Ordered them in August, a week or so before school started.  Then, after the kids had tried them on- they changed their minds, changed the girls' style of dresses and re-ordered/ measured them during the first week of school.  No one had a clue as to when they'd come in.  He only ordered for the Freshman and Chamber.  Chamber is playing for the state music educator's confrence in Nov (some of the music educator majors from Kristen's college will be there, and her school's going to have a booth there- very cool) so that's one of the reasons he wanted the girls to have new dresses.

Well- they came in on FRIDAY.  He wants the girls to wear them for the concert tomorrow.  AND Chamber is getting pictures taken on Tuesday for the program they're playing in Nov.   It needs a hem.  I couldn't take it to the lady I usually do- figured it's not fair to slam her with that much work to get the dress done by tomorrow.  So I bought this iron-on tape and I'm going to try to put a hem on myself.  Hopefully I'm not going to screw the dress up too much- because after this week's over I'm taking it over and getting a real hem done.  The community orchestra she plays in wants an all-black dress- this one is (the old one isn't) so wearing this one is going to cause far less "drama" for the new executive director (who I'm not very fond of).

Running to the post office to mail a package to Kristen.  She needed a business casual outfit next month for one of her classes.  4 hours and 2 stores later she finds something.  And what does she do?  She left it hanging in her room.  So I'll do that- head to the gym (that I got to a whole 1 time last week) fix Becca's dress, and haul her to orchestra practice tonight.  The bathrooms need cleaning- don't know if that is going to be done or not- Becca's dress is the 2nd priortity after the package.

The weekend was fun.  I think the college kid had fun at home.  I think she's different- more mature than when she left here.  Kind of LOL.  Midterm grades will be in on Friday- she told me that after she looks at them, she'll tell us what they are.  But she rattled off a couple of grades she's gotten in a couple of her classes, and they aren't bad at all- not high school grades, but good enough that she won't lose her scholarships..

I need to ask her when the decision comes in, I know they have a date that early decisions come in by. She added like 3 more schools to her list she was thinking of doing applications to, and frankly, if this school works, and she gets the financial aid and scholarship stuff from the athletic team, I'd rather do that than spend the money on application fees and fees to have her ACT and SAT scores sent to the other schools. Is that bad of me? The $200 or so worth of app fees for the 4 she already has on her list is bad enough, they are not kidding when they senior year is expensive!!!!

Yesterday we decided to go out and participate in rampant consumerism.  Zeph used most of his money from my mom at the Lego store.  I ordered Zeph the Lego Mindstorm set- he is going to be so excited.  We then got stuck in stuck in Crate and Barrel stairwell because there was a tornado siren going off.  They did serve us samples of their holiday candy-yum.  By the time they let us out, we had to leave for DH to make his flight, so we weren't able to make a decision on silverware.  I did chose a lovely centerpiece bowl.

Today we are taking Buffy to the vet in the afternoon.  I think she has an infection-she stinks!  Other than that, some deep housekeeping and school.

Hi everyone, hope it's been a good Monday. It was a pretty typical work day, three kids in the class absent including one who is in the ICU with a torn spleen.  I started my 3 week turn of supervising recess, which I liked much better than supervising lunch.  After work, I ran an errand, exercised and now have mac and cheese baking in the oven, which we'll have with salad.

Ian had a regular school day, took an Italian quiz which he thinks went well.  Kayleigh had a regular school day and then science club.  They are both going to a 4H TAG meeting after dinner.

After dinner, I'll do a couple of chores, pay some bills and then watch Dancing With the Stars

Hmm, well I can't see the rest of the thread, just my original thread, so I am a bit confused if its my computer or what with the boards. I'll see in the morning and see if its any different. I hope everyone else is seeing things just fine. If not, email me. I'd say PM, but I am not sure where the PM stuff is, at least on my page at the moment. So if anyone is having issues and can see this post, email me at tracy20745@aol.com/

I do not like this new format at all.  Ugh.  This will take some time getting use to.  I know they will be tweaking it too but still.  I moved the couch on the family room and cleaned under it and now the room seems so much bigger.  It's amazing.  I did some deap vacuuming cause I plan to clean the carpets tomorrow.  I answered a lot of email today.  Typical Monday.  After picking Katie up from school Natalie came home and on the bus.  Then Matthews friends mom called and asked up to go look for her 9 yr old daughter who accidentally road the bus to a freinds house and they weren't home.  Natalie went down and stayed with her until her dad came and got her.  It was a panic moment for them.  I felt so bad for her mama.  So I took Natalie and a friend to a volleyball clinic this evening and then took them to dinner.  They had fun.  I hated to end the fun but Natalie needed to finish her homework and we had to go home.  They about to go to bed and Matthew and I will be watching Revolution and then he will hit the sack.
