Orange Chicken With Rice

Orange Chicken with Rice
1 chicken cut up or boneless, skinless chicken breasts
veggie spray skilllet or use small amount of olive oil to slightly brown
the chicken
Place browned chicken in the CrockPot
Make a sauce of:
1/2 cup orange juice
2 T brown sugar
1/4 t ginger
a pinch of cardamon,
1 env. of chicken gravy mix
salt and pepper to taste
Pour the sauce over the chicken in CP and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours.
After the chicken is cooked, remove from the CP and keep warm while you
make the rice
RICE
Pour off 1 1/2 cups liquid from CP and add to 1 cup quick cooking brown
rice and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Bring to a boil in a saucepan, cover, reduce
heat and simmer until done and all liquid is absorbed.
Serve the chicken over the rice and garnish with slivered almonds and
thin orange slices
