Vanilla Cranberry Cape Cods
Pay homage to the Pilgrims by serving this classic cocktail named after the land first sighted by voyagers on the Mayflower: Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
Although the story goes that the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock, historical accounts may suggest otherwise.
Some believe that the Pilgrims landed at Cape Cod and didn't feel the area suited their needs. After exploring the land, Plymouth, with its safe harbor, rivers and lakes, and land to grow crops, seemed the ideal place to settle.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz. vanilla flavored vodka
- Red cranberry juice
- Lime wedge and fresh cranberries for garnish
Preparation:
Fill a tumbler glass with ice and add ingredients. Spear a couple of fresh cranberries and a lime wedge with a cocktail pick to place in the glass as a garnish.

Well, the recipe didn't say - just said "fill tumbler with juice" - I have never actually tried this, it just looked really good.... I am thinking "to taste"!
I 'm curious....how did you make your vanilla vodka??
I just searched other cape cod recipes and they are 1.5 oz of vodka to 5 oz cranberry juice.
okay, I am drinking one of these right now, and I am telling ya, they are DANGEROUS! You cannot taste the alcohol at ALL, and they have a shot and a half of vodka in there..... they go down like water!
I think they would be better colder... we normally keep the vodka in the freezer, but DH just picked up the vanilla vodka and juice this afternoon, so we are relying on the ice to chill them. Ooh... we are going to have to keep cranberry juice on hand!
