I got "Will in the World: How Shakespeare Became Shakespeare" from my sister. I hadn't asked for it but it is on my TBR list. She knows me so well.

The one book I received was from my middle daughter.

Well, I didn't receive a book for Christmas, even though I did ask for 'State of Fear'. However, I had bought myself 'The Rule of Four' a few weeks ago and I read it this last week and I really enjoyed it. Lots of little factoids about Italian artists and the Renaissance Period. It wasn't so much of a high-action book as 'DaVinci Code', but it moved right along and kept me interested. The story was interesting and the ending was really different. I doubt if it has enough 'action' for a film to be made, but I don't always have to be entertained with lots of action. A good plot and well developed characters are all I need.

I also picked up a book I've been looking for since I read the inside flap a few months ago. It looked terrific, but I didn't get it at the time. Then I forgot the name of the book. It's written by Marion Zimmer-Bradley. I finally ran across it again the other day and this time I grabbed it. It's called, 'The Inheritor'. Apparently, it's about a woman who purchases a home in San Francisco overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. She lives there with her sister and soon discovers she is living in a magickal vortex. Needing to protect it from people who want

I got "State of Fear" by Michael Crichton, technically it was for my birthday, which was Dec.16, but it's still a new book for me! Then, my dh got me 4 Rachael Ray cookbooks! She hosts a show called "30 Minute Meals" on the Food Network....

I didn't receive any books, but I did get a gift certificate for the book store and for Wal Mart, so book shopping here I come!! I'll probably buy mostly romance novels though. Maybe a John Grisham book or something.

Not one that I would pick for myself, but my mom got me Rodeo Queens and the American Dream, by Joan Burbick.

Thanks Teri! I do love my Rachael Ray books, I've been going thru them & making lists of ingredients I need......I'm so NOT a cook, something I'm hoping to change this year! Of course now I'm realizing I need more cookware too; and I want that knife she uses for everything! And her recipes SEEM so easy, haven't actually made one yet (still have family in town from the holidays and have been busy), but I'm optimistic! Doubt I'll be able to get one done in 30 minutes, but I'm going to try....
I haven't actually read THAT many Michael Crichton books, just the Jurassic Park ones, and Timeline. But then one of my favorite tv shows is "ER", and he created that! Hoping to dig into "State of Fear" this week!

Marge,

I wanted to say "hello" because I'm a horse person, too!
