I don't remember who here told me how much they enjoyed it, but WOW! I had forgotten how I was instantly pulled into DaVinci Code, too. Thanks so much for recommending that I cross it off my To Read list.

LOL, Teri! He certainly is!! (A side note: I met David Baldacci at a book signing and WOW!)

These are the only two Dan Brown books I've read. So far, I actually prefer Angels & Demons to DaVinci Code. Religion and quantum physics are among my favorite topics so this one was a can't miss for me. I have favorites in each category, but rarely do the lines cross into one book! It's a great story, too. You're right, it's definitely a wee-hours kind of book.

I can't believe I almost passed it over on my TBR list!

Well, Dan Brown certainly does seem to be the IT man of the moment and has quite a PR machine to continue to draw such controversy and debate. You're right that religious history (more my area of interest than actual religion) has come up a lot more recently in both fiction and non-fiction. I think the Catholic church has drawn a lot of attention to themselves in the last few years and spurred much of the recent "quest for the truth" genre. I like City of God by E.L. Doctorow as well for an fascinating look at the history of the Jewish faith. Even Life of Pi offered insight into 3 seemingly different religions as well. Did you read the Red Tent?

Quantum physics is all non-fiction, but surprising a lot is very well written. The Elegant Universe has been far and away the best so far. But Beyond Einstein also includes really interesting alternative explanations of basic theories. Not too many best-sellers among them though, that's for sure!

Thanks for the tip about A Conspiracy of Paper. I look forward to picking it up. I also have to get out of the genre for a while though. I think perhaps it's time for a strong feminist heroine!!

I've read all of Dan Brown's books and I loved them all. Have you looked at his website. There are some fun games on there.

Well, Dan Brown is awesome. Both his writing career and he himself are pretty 'hot'. I, too, have read all of the books and enjoyed all of them. I thought Digital Fortress was a bit slow or boring compared to the high action of the others. Deception Point was fun with high action, but some of the action was completely implausible. That iceberg stuff was hilarious. I had liked reading it anyway. I loved both 'DaVinci Code' and 'Angels and Demons'. The subject matter in both were right up my alley. I love to read about old religious mysticism. Can't wait for the movies to be made and another book to come out.

I read a book recently called, 'The Rule of Four', and it was along the same lines. It wasn't as much of an action book, but more cerebral type stuff. There is a book my friend was reading and I'd love to pick it up and read it. I think it's a non-fiction called, 'Guardian of the Grail'. That may not

I just finished that book yesterday. It was amazing. It took me a while to get into it but once it stared rolling I didn't put it down till I was finished. I stayed up till 5 am without even knowing it. But I finished it that night. I now want to read the davinci code but my husband has lent it to someone. Ill get it back in a week or so. I'm so glad that more people are reading that book.

Cheers

I'm jealous that you've finished. I've been slammed for the past two days and haven't even had a chance to crack it open.

I'm working on a Da Vinci Code gift basket right now (I overlooked it for the holidays because I thought everyone had read it...oops!) If you want some suggestions for music to read by and set the mood, Mozart's piano sonatas are working quite nicely. They follow the Golden Mean Dan writes about which is based on the number Phi. Don't worry, it'll all make sense soon enough ;-)

Nice to "meet" you,
