I live in Ontario (about 4 hrs north of Toronto) and I have a mix of tulips, lilies, crocuses, and some others that I don't recognize (previous house owner planted them). Just this morning I noticed that all the leaves (and the unopened flowers presumably) on all my tulips have been shorn away. There are also about 5 or six suspicious small holes that have been dug around the front of the flower bed. Short of sitting up all night on guard, I don't think I can do anything about it but is there a particular animal (raccoon, skunk, deer, etc..) that is drawn to tulip leaves?? I'm just curious which beast I'm feeding LOL!

I'll try that next year...my tulips seem to be a lost cause this year. They have been "mowed" to within a couple of inches from the soil. Thanks for the information! I was surprised to see the damage though as we've been living in this house for 4 years and this is the first year that we've had any problems with wildlife...and it's ALL my tulips...I'm so sad!! I'm trying to find the humour in the situation though.

Deer are the culprits at my mom's house. They wait until just before they bloom then mow them to the ground. Funny thing is, I live a few hundred yards away and they don't come near mine.

Sounds like rabbits . I PLANTED PANYS . LILLIES, CONE FLOWERS ETC. LAST YEAR AND SEVERAL RABBITS THAT VISIT THE YARD ATE THEM.Rabbits are cute but when it comes to their eating habits very destructive.I used deer off which is the name of the container but it also includes rabbits and squirrels etc.I PURCHASED DEER OFF AT LOWES.DO YOU HAVE A LOWES OR A HOME DEPOT WHERE YOU LIVE?
