Hello and Welcome Ratfink!

I can appreicate moss - it is pretty, especially if you can get it to grow in certain places to add some character. Although I think you might be one of the biggest moss addicts I have ever met. :)

I'm not sure if this is the type of site your looking for, but this was the best one I could find: http://www.absbonsai.org/articles/moss.html

Your photos are great! I just moved into a house with a shady, wooded yard. Lots of rocks, both naturally, and added by the previous owner. I want to encourage the moss that's there, it give the yard a "deep-woods" serenity! Can you buy moss to plant?

You can encourage moss to grow. You take some of the moss you like, put it in a blender with a little yogurt and water, blend it up the paint or spray where you want it to grow. Then keep the area moist, with misters, to let it take hold.

I've also heard of adding a little powdered
