I know we had talked about these standing planters back in the spring. I just recently came across them in at the Sportsmans Guide Catalog and I was wondering if if anyone tried this planter.

This is what it looks like: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/the-upside-down-tomato-garden.aspx?a=327754

That is the one that they had at Sams club for $49.99 or so.

That seems like a good deal at Sam's. The reviews seem pretty good. I do not have a membership though - the closest one is 80+ miles away, so it is not worth it for me. When I live in FL I did A LOT of shopping at Sam's though, it was a lot closer though. Wondering if one of my friends has one.

I know I don't "need" it, but it looks so cool!

I do have some tomatoes going in the greehouse. not sure how long they will make it, but we shall see. :)

Sams has that aero garden and supposedly with an adapter kit you can grow small regular tomatoes in one of those.

UPDATE

I was at one of the local Walmarts tonite and on an end display they had a huge stack of these BUT apparently they now come in two sizes.

Well I won't make it to either this weekend. After no real snow to speak of since Oct/Nov we have gotten LOTS since Thursday night and it is still coming down.

Had a great time with the kids playing in the snow though.
