I put aside Ann Patchett's "The Patron Saint of Liars" after 50 or so pages, as I was not getting involved with her characters or story.

I just finished Mercy by Jodi Picoult. It was really good. Oddly the issues she raised seemed to keep coming up while I was reading it. I just started The Same Sweet Girls by Cassandra King. I'm only about 50 pages in but so far it is good.
Julie
I've just finished Deep In The Darkness by Michael Laimo, this book was awesome!
Marge, let me know how you like 'Manitou'. It sounds really good and just the thing I'd be into. I'll keep an eye out for it.
Hi all...newbie here. I sit down about 1 day a month and discover a new board or 10 LOL My current read right now is from the DragonLance series "Chronicles: Volume 2 Dragons of Winter Night" by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. Dungeons and Dragons/Fantasy. Really fun to read. Easy read. I've read it 2 or 3 times when I've run out of books to read. I just finished a series that is continued in another book coming out in July by George R. R. Martin, "A Game of Thrones." It's a Sci-fi/Fantasy series. It's long, but enjoyable, as well.
Rozanne
Hi Rozanne,
Welcome to the board and thanks for the scoop on your current read!
I just finished 'Salem Falls', but Jodi Picoult. It was a great book. I love her writing style. She's smart, smooth and easy to read. My daughter turned me on to her and will be lending me
I'm still reading Stuard Woods stuff. I just started "Run Before the Wind", the first in his Will Lee series, which is one of Woods' earlier books and a little different from what I expected after reading some of his other stuff, but still pretty good. After that, I'll be reading the next book in the series "Grass Roots" and the last book although I can't remember the name. I already rad the third book. Luckily, you can read them out of order without really ruining anything. I also just finished Deception Point, by Dan Brown ,which I loved. I absolutely didn't figure out who was behind the whole thing until it was revealed and I was so shocked I actually gasped out loud in the lunch room at work. My co-workers thought I was nuts.
I have the last in one of his other series and I plan on reading the others first, but think I'll read a few different things first, maybe some Nora Robers (Northern Lights) or I've heard good things about Jodi Picoult here so maybe I'll check her out.
Paula
Hi Paula,
Nice to see you here again.
Finished The Known World by Edward P. Jones yesterday...what a good book! I'd highly recommend it.
Just started The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy: A Trilogy in Five Parts, by Douglas Adams. Too funny! It's delightfully wacky and I think I'm really going to like this one! lol
