...because I sat down with my TBR list last week and requested these books from my library.

Pages
I have several books reserved
The Falls, Joyce Carol Oats
Tilting at Windmills, Joseph Pittman
After You, Annie Garrett
The Time Travelers Wife, Audr Niffenegger
and Smart Women, Judy Blume
The only one I've read before is Smart Women.
I usually don't have too hard of a time deciding which book to read. I'll usually knock the quick-reads off first and then dig into the thicker novels.
I only have Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Vanishing Acts and The Pact on my hold list at the library. I try not to have too many books on there because I used to put every book I wanted to read on there. Then they would all become available about the same time and I wouldn't be able to get them all read before I had to turn them in because someone else was waiting. Now I only put the ones that have long wait lists on hold. Or the ones I need to read by a certain time for my book club. When I have a bunch of books from the library if there are one that have people waiting for them I read those first. The more people on the wait list the sooner I'll read it. I also factor in the number of copies the library has. So if a book has only two people waiting for it but only one copy I'll read that before the book with five people waiting but three copies. After that I read books from the county library before books from the city library because I can only keep books from the county for three weeks but I can keep the one from the city for four. If there are no other factors I usually just grab the book on top of the pile. Ocassionally something I've really been looking forward to or something for my book club will take precidence. Then of course the books I actually buy come last because they have no due date. Those are few though.
Sheesh, I never realized my system was so complicated.

Sorry, Teri, don't have no 'bubba' truck for hauling your reserve TBRs! LOL! As for any reserves here, there's three I have at local libraries:
1. 'A Thread of Grace' by Mary Doria Russell (actually pickung up today)
2. 'Ha-Ha' by David King
3. 'Now You See Him' by Stella Cameron
But there are other new titles coming out this month and gearing up to put on hold or buy them.
Donna
Hey Donna,
Pls let us know how you like "Ha Ha" book, which genre etc.
Well I try not to put more than one or two on hold at a time. However at my library if there's a long waiting list, after so many they won't keep your request anymore. They just tell you to try again at a later date. Right now I don't have any on hold as the library is closed for three weeks for renovations. They don't seem to get the new books right away very often. So I usually wait quite a while. But I don't mind. As long as I have something to read I'm not picky about whether it's new or not.
Linda
How can you stand having the library closed?
Julie
Linda!~
Oh no, library closed for renovations!!
Did you know Harley Jane Kozak was a soap star on the now-defunct soap TEXAS? At least, there was an actress by that name. Can't imagine there'd be two people with that same name. Just an interesting side note.
