Thinking of remodeling your kitchen? What do you think is the worst or outdated

The worse thing in my kitchen is the floor.

Not exactly the worst but my counter tops are laminate and that certainly is the most dated, the most in need of upgrading... Before money got tight, we were looking at silestone...

I don't think we had any intention of going as far as granite though. I have to say that I really don't like the speckled look of most stone countertops... I really like a plainer surface in our relatively small kitchen, and Kensho in the Zen series of Silestone fits in with our honey oak and teal green decor, IMO:

Next in line would be making all the appliances match. We have stainless cooktop and dishwasher but the fridge and the sink are white and the built in oven and microwave are black! Since the ovens and fridge are the oldest features of the kitchen, it looks like stainless is the most likely choice even though it is not my favorite look...

In these economically challenged times, do you think we need a Repair Manifesto?

My kitchen was redone before we moved in and I really like my kitchen & dont plan on doing anything to it in the near future.
BUT if money were not an object I'd like to have some sort of medium/dark wood cabinets. My cabinets are white, yes I like white but it wouldnt be my choice for kitchen cabinets. I think white cabinets are more for a french or shabby looking kitchen.
I'd also like some of those open cabinets for things such a plates standing on end, maybe a wine rack & place for wine glasses to hang upside down.
One of those big arch things that go over top of the stove would be beautiful.
Thats all I can think of at the moment HA HA

Your kitchen looks very nice Pam, but I do agree the white cabinets are hard to keep clean and more country, shabby or traditional looking. Love your eat-in bar. Your chairs are

Actually, I already have an island in the kitchen and like it very much.
