Happy Friday All,
I was reading a message where Maggie said she liked the Jimmy Buffet book so she would purchase it for the shelf. So I thought it might be a good thread. What makes you decide to buy a book rather than borrow from the library or a friend.
A friend of mine just offered to give me "Vanishing Acts" to read. I declined because I always purchase Jodi Picoult books so I can share them. If I think I will really like a book, I buy it. Of course I've been stuck with many a dud!!!! Sue

Michelle,
I visited www.overstock.com after Beth (aka esb) mentioned their good book bargains and was happily surprised at their selection and prices.
Hi Teri,
Thanks for asking about my health. They still don't know what is causing me so much joint pain. Yesterday I started with a sinus infection. I went to the doctors' today and he think maybe the virus has been brewing in my system for the last few weeks. He also tested for (lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and a parathyroid growth because my calcium was high). I have been a sickly person since childhood. Now my lungs are in such bad shape I am about ready for the transplant list. Aside from me telling you this I am relatively active and happy. Guess I've had such a longggggggggg winter!!
When I first came across this board everyone sounded younger than me. Talking about their kids and going to school, etc. I also think it's a very nice sampling of ages and different tastes in reading. I love reading all of the different posts and opinions.
I finished reading "The Hiding Place". I thoroughly enjoyed it and it is a book that I probably would never have picked up to read. That's why a board like this is so important!
