I just started Deep Lie, by Stuart Woods. It's a spy book, the pacing and style actually reminds me of some of Tom Clancy's books, but a little easier to read. I think this will be a quick one. I just finished "The Eyre Affair" by the way and I love it. I actually only picked up Deep Lie because the book that comes after The Eyre Affair in the series was checked out.
Happy Friday to All and A Fine April Fools Day!!!!!
I just started a book which has gotten great reviews!! It's called "Me and Emma" by Elizabeth Flock. The story is about two sisters who are being raised by an abusive stepfather and a mother who neglects their needs. I have just started and already I know this is going to be good!
I'm 3/4s of the way through Michael Connelly's 'The Narrows'. Though a Harry Bosch novel, he also the third person narrative through two other characters eyes. One is Rachel Walling, an FBI agent and the other is Bob Backus, the villain. If you read MC's book 'The Poet', then you'll be familiar with Backus and Walling. At the end of the 'The Poet' we were left to wonder about the demise of the villain. In 'The Narrows', Harry (who is currently a P.I. and no longer a LAPD cop) is asked by a deceased friend's widow to look into her husband's death. This leads Bosch into an ongoing FBI investigation on the outskirts of Las Vegas. As always, MC's writing is exceptional and it's been hard to put the book down to do things like, oh? go to work? *g*
I'm reading Second Glance by Jodi Picoult. I am enjoying it as usual. I haven't had as much time to read though because my Mom is visiting and I was cleaning a few days before she got here.
Simply Unforgettable by Mary Balogh. She's a romance writer and lately she's been writing books in series, with related titles, often based upon a minor character from the previous series--this series, the "Simply" series, is based upon a school started by the ex-governess of one of her characters from her last series (the "Slightly" series). So far I'm enjoying it but it isn't one of her truly best. :)
Ok, am blushing because though I bought the book in hardback last year I didn't get to it on purpose till last week. It had to do with knowing it'd be another year before another Bosch novel and the idea of waiting sooooooooooooo long for it. Plus knowing that I'd reach a point of wanting nothing but a new MC novel to read when nothing else would please me, is another reason for the long wait. Crazy? Yup! LOL! For my birthday next month, am going to buy MC's new Bosch novel 'The Closers'. Comes out around 5/16 or so. Will this reader wait another year to read it? Hopefully not.

Donna,
So is Michael Connelly's "The Narrows" bringing back "The Poet" (a killer who leaves msgs, quotes or references to Edgar Allen Poe?)?
Hi Paula,
Isn't "The Eyre Affair" a kick?!
