I was reading a book I picked up at a bookstore that was closing that is a collection of 5 Miss Marple stories by Agatha Christie. The first two that I read were pretty good, I will probably read more of hers later on. Friday I stopped at the library and picked up "Deep South" by Nevada Barr. It's part of her Anna Pigeon series. This time Anna is headed to the Natchez Trace Parkway in Mississippi where Anna has gotten a promotion as a district ranger. Looks like she stumbles into a murder right off the bat. Looking forward to getting started on that one. Gae
I'm in a mystery period right now, picked up five from the library last Friday. I'm just about finished "McNally's Alibi" by Lawrence Sanders (although some other guy actually writes the McNally books now, but I can't remember his name). I should be finished it today and will start the next book "McNally's Dare" this evening. I also picked up the next 2 Sue Grafton books in her alphabet series, I think I have I and J. I had been reading these with my mother a few years ago, but took a break from them and now I'm ready to go back. I also have "Patriot Games" by Tom Clancy.
And, I requested the first two Ann Ripley gardening mysteries from the libary as well. One of them is in and the other should be ready this week, so I'll have to finish the books I have quickly so I can get to them, too.
Just started "Harvesting the Heart" by Jodi Picoult. So many people on the board have mentioned her, I have to try her. I just finished "Cross Your Heart & Hope to Die", a Blackbird Sisters mystery by Nancy Martin. That was a fun read. I also started "Conviction" by Richard North Patterson, but just couldn't get in to it. Not sure why it didn't appeal to me - I've liked his other books. But I've decided to let this one go. Oh, I also recently finished "The Traveling Vampire Show" by Richard Laymon - the first of his books that I've read. I'll definitely be reading more of him.

Hi Paula :)
It's great to sink into a series of mysteries *g*.
From cover: "Verse of the Vampyre",
