  • Love 'em (why?)
  • Hate 'em (why?)
  • Can take 'em or leave 'em ...

I ask for a couple of reasons:

1) every designer show I see on HGTV features designers who HATE them

2) I just posted a tip on how to install one

3) I jut ran across this pro/con post:
http://yourdecoratinghotline.com/thumbs-updown-ceiling-fans/

and 4) there is a ceiling fan in nearly every room in my house (the bathrooms, the pantry an the utility room have escaped but otherwise...).

I can take 'em or leave 'em.

There's one in the living room. It's hideous and I've not found a model I liked enough yet. The lights are useful, but did I mention how hideous they look?

I think they're necessary where I live.

They keep me cool and have a breeze in the warm months.

Although I'm hot all the time with my MS, so I use it year round to keep cool.

When DH was alive, the ceiling fan circulated the heat too.
