Plaster Wall Repair

ARGH! IV ate my first post.

Anyways, DH and I are in the process of removing pain and glue from our plaster walls in the bathroom, where paneling used to hang. At first, I thought we would remove all the old paint and glue, patch, prime and repaint. However, some of the old paint doesn't want to come off very easily, so DH mentioned that we patch and resurface the walls. I grew up with only drywall that my dad was savvy in replacing, so I have no idea about plaster.

I found a link stepping us through the process we'd hope to accomplish.

We still have a good bit of paint/glue to remove in the bathroom, so I'm trying to do as much research as possible.

Has anyone done something like this? Any tips or links would be much appreciated. :)

Wish I could help but I've never lived in a house with plaster... only drywall. That DIY network link is a good one though... and here is another that might shed some light on alternative approaches:

Nice!
This guy has several nice articles. I have them printed and ready to stash around the house for DH to read. :)

I'm going to have to take pictures and post my progresses.

I like your approach with your DIY hubby!!

Please do post progress pics ---we'd love to see some! (NOTE: Some reno pic files also come in handy for insurance purposes as well as for resale, showing the upgrades you did so keep those photos in a safe place!)
