Hi Teri,

Today I finished "Under and Alone" by William Queen. It's the story of an ATF agent who went undercover and infiltrated "The Mongols" one of the meanest motorcycle clubs in California! It's so far from anything I would normally like but I read a review on "EW" and it sounded good. It was very interesting and a fast read! Sue

Just read "Aunt Dimity & the Next of Kin" - a "cozy" mystery, and then worked through "Metropolis" by Elizabeth Gaffney. "Metropolis" was actually very good, but took awhile to get through. I'm now about half-way through "Reading Lolita in Tehran". So interesting. I have to admit I'm looking forward to getting back to a light mystery again after this though. But, if making your brain work really does help prevent the onset of Alzheimers, then I've probably put it off for at least 6 mos. to a year lately. I have been enjoying the challenge though.

I have a little more time lately for reading...finished exams on Saturday. Woo Hoo! But, summer classes start up in two weeks. Just when I think things are calming down! lol

I finished Krakatoa by Simon Winchester (non-fiction) earlier this week. What a book! I really enjoyed it and it really put December's Tsunami into perspective...He thouroughly explained the geological make-up and techtonics of Idonesia and the "Ring of Fire". I recommend this one!

I just started Atonement by Ian McEwen...only three chapters in, but enjoying it so far. I purposely haven't read any reviews on Amazon, etc. for this one. I just want to let this one envelope me.

Hey I have Krakatoa on my hold list at the library. I don't know where I found it to put there but it is there. I think you're the only one I've heard read it that I can remember.

I'm in the middle of "Song of Susannah" #6 in the Dark Tower Series. I just finished "Same Sweet Girls" How sad that was.

Yesterday I started a non-fiction I got for Christmas, "Will in the World: How Shakespeare Became Shakespeare." I am really enjoying it.

I've been pretty distracted lately and had a lot of stuff going on, so I have been reading quite slowly. I'm still only halfway through, 'Reading Lolita In Tehran'. I am really liking the book, but there is a lot of discussion in it of some books that I have not read, so I go slowly and give a lot of thought to what's happening. This book covers the time back in the '70's when Iran was in a civil revolution. They tossed out the Shah and Ayatollah Khomeini (spelling butchered) took over. I was a newlywed during that time and we were in college and spent a lot of time on college campuses. There was so much happening in the over-throw of that government. It's interesting to me to read about someone who was there.

I just got Nicholas Spark's True Believer yesterday. I am so excited to start reading it.
Hubby has school tonight so I think I'm going to send the kids to their rooms kind of early so I can retire to mine and start reading it. Can't wait!

Hi Celeste,

I'm finding "Reading Lolita..." a substantial and challenging read as well...slow going for the same reasons, discussion of books/authors I'm unfamiliar with, and wanting to absorb every droplet of this wonderful book.
