Here's a big hello and Welcome to our Newcomers...and an invitation to any lurkers to c'mon out and introduce yourselves!
The board is a friendly gathering of avid readers....many of us like to vary our genres.
Please tell us a bit about yourself and/or any favorite authors, genres, what you're reading these days...
And please feel welcome to post a new topic if you like!

Howdy! I'll come out of lurkdom. My name is Cindy, and I love to read almost anything. My mom used to chastise me as a child because I never went anywhere without a book. If the gathering wasn't exciting to me, I'd slip off somewhere quiet with my book. My tastes range from classical literature (I majored in English and History in college) to smarmy romances that can be read in an afternoon. Unfortunately, I don't get as much time to read as I like - I have a very active almost 3 year old son.
I've enjoyed this board - and getting to know some of you in my lurking. Hopefully I'll be able to join in on one of the group reads soon!
;)
Hi Cyntharella,
Welcome to the board :)
...*** bumping up our Welcome to Newcomers....Inviting Lurkers to introduce yourselves! :)
Hi Cindy,
Welcome to the board!! I have always been like you, everywhere I go my book goes with me. I never mind waiting in doctors' offices etc. I also understand when you say you don't get enough time because of your three year old. I have a four year old grandaughter who lives with us. Everytime I pick up a book, she brings her books for me to read. My daughter jokes that I'm turning her into a bookworm. Welcome again, Sue
Thanks for the welcome everyone! I now have a mile long list of books to try - thanks to this board - in addition to the stacks in my basement. My husband is also an avid reader, and my son is definitely showing a great interest in books. Alas, he really has a "one-track" mind - his love is Thomas the Tank Engine.
And Kris - I know what you mean about rainy days. We're just south of Cleveland, and a news story early this spring informed us that Cleveland ranks 2nd in fewest sunny days - behind Seattle.
I currently have Anna Karenina on my next to be read list, but I'm debating putting it aside for one of the many books mentioned here. I'll have to see what I can get from the library.
Thanks again for the welcome!
:)
Hi everyone,
My name is Monica and I thought I'd join you all! I love to read - and have just got back into the rhythm of reading for pleasure. I'm 28 yrs old, a lawyer in So Cal and have been married for almost 4 years and have an 20 month old son.
I haven't ready for pleasure for many years while I was an undergraduate and in law school but now that I have been practicing for a few years I am drawn back to my favorite hobby - reading!
Right now I am playing catch up on all of the best sellers for the past few years. I am reading the Da Vinci Code right now. What a page turner!
Anyway...hope to get to know you all better and discuss some great books!
Monica

Hi Monica & Welcome :)
Thanks for coming in and introducing yourself!
Thanks, Teri for your welcome on the other discussion...
I've just been a-browsing for awhile now, thought I'd better come introduce myself! I'm a 21-year-old country gal. My interests in books vary. I'm a reader of fiction as well as nonfiction, I enjoy mysteries, horrors, and thrillers. I also enjoy the classics like 1984, Lord of the Flies. Since I am a student of Psychology and Religion, I like reading on various topics of Psychology and Spirituality. One of my major areas of interests is the Paranormal and Paranormal Psychology. Being in my last year of undergraduate study, it's difficult to find the time to read for leisure, but I'm getting back into the groooovvveeee....:D
Let's see, what else can I say? I like traveling, and my favorite places to be are Florida and Tennessee!
There's more about me on my profile page, so feel free to visit or drop me a line, I'd be glad to chat! Meanwhile, I'll be roaming the boards off and on hoping to jump in a few discussions and look forward to meeting some new people :)
~Kristy~
Thought I'd take a moment to say "Hello!"
I lurked here a while ago, but this is my first time posting (I think LOL).
