Welcoming Newcomers & Lurkers :)
| Tue, 05-10-2005 - 11:25am |
Here's a big hello and Welcome to our Newcomers...and an invitation to any lurkers to c'mon out and introduce yourselves!
The board is a friendly gathering of avid readers....many of us like to vary our genres.
Please tell us a bit about yourself and/or any favorite authors, genres, what you're reading these days...
And please feel welcome to post a new topic if you like!

Hi!
I was just introduced to this board by another member of the July Fireflies playgroup!
I haven't been very good about reading lately...10 month old baby has a tendency to squash any desire to read at night before going to sleep...so tired...LOL
I am trying to read Stephen King's Wolves of Calla, but haven't gotten very far.

Hi Valerie...Welcome!
We're so glad you came over and posted!
Mary,
I live in Doylestown, practically on the New Britain border! This area has grown so much in the 14 yrs we've lived here. So many farms have been sold & the land has been used for new home construction. There are now 3 high schools: Central Bucks West, East and South (just opened in January). It really is a great place to live, so close to Philly, NYC & Washington. And, I still get a kick out of the fact that we live only 20 minutes away from the spot where Washington crossed the Delaware.
And Teri,
I'd love to share my book sale finds. Along with Light on Snow I got The Last Juror by John Grisham, Just One Look by Harlan Coben (2 I knew my dh & ds would also like to read), Drowning Ruth by Christina Schwarz, & Catalyst by Laurie Halse Anderson (This is a YA book my dd already read & recommended to me. The cover of the book says: Advance uncorrected proofs, not for sale, & I thought it would be neat to own it).
My dd picked up: Circle of Friends by Maeve Binchy, At Home in Mitford by Jan Karon, Girl With the Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier, The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver, & The Red Tent by Anita Diamant.
I finished Light on Snow & it's a great feeling to know I have so many other books just waiting to be read.
Syrah
Amazing, Syrah, that you actually live IN Doylestown (and right next to New Britain)!
